Hamilton Pays Tribute to Elvis Presley
Along other interesting watches released at Baseworld 2015, Hamilton prepared a surprise watch meant to honor the King of Rock and Roll. The exquisite Hamilton Ventura Elvis 80 celebrates the star's 80th birthday, who was a big fan of this brand.
The king, who's 80th birthday would have been on January the 8th this year, is known to made the brand famous by wearing a Hamilton Ventura timepiece in the film Blue Hawaii, in 1961, at 4 years after it was released. This way the model has quickly become the “Elvis watch”, introduced to the world as the first electric watchwrist, having the unusual feature of a triangle shape.

This model presented at the festival has introduced a new movement (H-10), with an 80 hours reserve. The design imitates the old watch in many ways, including the sapphire crystal, the curved dial or the strap (available in leather or black rubber).

Its case dimensions are 42.5 mm x 44.6 mm. Prices vary from $ 1,045 (for a quartz version) to $ 1,495 for the watch with automatic movement.

Another watch presented at baselworld 2015 by Hamilton is the Chrono Worldtimer, with a big stainless steel case (45 mm), coming on a steel or rubber bracelet. When asked about price, the brand affirmed it starts from $1,245 going up to $1,295.

Glashütte presents two updates
We are talking about the Glashütte Original PanoMaticLunar, which was available until now with a white or anthracite dial, and the Glashütte Original PanoReserve. The new versions exhibited at the show are designed in an interesting combination of colors:
- Glashütte Original PanoMaticLunar is of a deep matte black, having a case in a gold-rose tone;
- Glashütte Original PanoReserve has a dark tone of blue, very close to indigo and is embraced by a powerful stainless steel case.

Glashütte explained that there are more than 40 operations involved in order to create and finish a dial alone, and that they are made in an original Glashütte factory situated in Pforzheim, Germany.
They both have automatic movements, the PanoMatic Lunar having a Glashütte Original's Caliber 90-02 on 28,800vph with 47 jewels, while the other runs on Caliber 65-01, a manually wound 4-Hz movement with 48 jewels. The rotor is skeletonized of the PanoMatic watch has the GO logo and is made of 21-karat gold.

They both have a 42 hour reserve and a 40 mm diameter. The first is 12.7 mm thick, while the PanoReserve 11.7 mm. They are both water resistant at 50 meters.
PanoLunar is available in a blue alligator or a blue calfskin strap or a stainless steel bracelet. The PanoReserve also has these options for the strap, but the black and gold edition has 2 different alligator bracelets.
